Bridal Statement Necklaces

So I don't know about you, but I am LOVING this trend of big chunky necklaces that is sweeping spring and summer fashion trends. My question then...why should brides not be able to jump on this same wagon?? I personally adore the contrast between a white gown and a bright pop of color or layer of multiple strands of beads. Here are a few that I think would look stunning walking down the aisle.

Hope you found enough inspiration to go bold on your big day!!

Happy Friday!

Spring 2012 PANTONE Fashion

Hello my fabulous fashionable friends!!
I don't know about you, but I am ready for spring. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE fall and I'm pretty partial to winter too, but around March I have these cravings to go shopping and wear bright colors and I just can't ignore it any longer! I stumbled across THIS site the other day, and it is all about this season's chosen PANTONE colors. I'm sure you've noticed the color of the year (Tangerine Tango) popping up all over the place...or at least I have, and I am in love!
So, to celebrate these beautiful colors I've put together a little chart with their names, numbers, and CMYK info so you can use them for whatever creative outlet you choose, be it fashion, interiors, or computer design!

I've also included the Men's fashion colors from PANTONE. I don't have any examples for them, but they are still some great colors! Be sure to bring a little Tangerine Tango and Sodalite Blue into your man's life this spring!!

Recycle Bridesmaid Dress Inspiration

Hello!!! I hope everyone is enjoying  this beautiful weather today, since It'll probably make a drastic change in the next 12 hours, I plan to take advantage of it.
Since beginning this just too much fun journey of planning my own wedding, I have looked at countless bridesmaid dresses. I am quite pleased with the one I found for my own bridal party, and I hope they are too, but I noticed that the whole trend of the bridesmaid dress has really stepped up their game! So many of the once over-ruffled garments have become sleek, and modern dresses that very well could be worn again.
As I was browsing the wonderful world wide web, I came across a few articles who's topic was about up-cycling old bridesmaid dresses, or how to donate/get rid of old ones that are piling up in your closet! Truthfully I only have one bridesmaid dress under my ownership and it was custom made so I can't really do anything with it, but for all you other girls out there whom seem to be unwillingly collecting those sometimes not so glamours pieces, maybe this can spark some creative juices and you can re-wear one of those dresses on your next night out!

The first site I came across was on  Lola Elise, a wonderful wedding photographer who has some great images to look through. She did a Bridesmaid, Inspiration Shoot that I found extremely creative! After looking at some of the dress "makeovers" I kinda wished I had a dress of my own to try a new style on. Anyhow, here are some examples of the images from the shoot. To see the whole post click HERE

Too cute right?!

The second site I found from was NewlyMaid. They have a process where you can shop their ADORABLE little black dresses (aka. LBD) and in return you'll receive a prepaid mailer for sending them one of your old bridesmaid dresses. NewlyMaid accepts dresses from all manufacturers in the bridal industry including bridesmaids, mother of the bride, social occasion, and prom dresses. The dress must be in good quality of course, and all zippers and clasps must be in working order. Check out how the whole process works HERE

So there you have it!
A couple options that could grantee just a few more nights out in that expensive dress you only wore once. And when your big day arrives, maybe you'll think back to all of those dresses hanging in your closet, and pick out something that your girls could wear out in the real world as well as to your wedding :)

Cheers!
